Dr. Evans is clinically trained in cognitive constructivist and developmental approaches to therapy and assessment.  She also utilized the precepts of mindfulness and internal self regulation, as she is interested in the process of how the client learns and changes rather than merely treating or assessing symptoms.  The belief that each person actively constructs his or her own view of reality and ultimately health is the driving force of her philosophical orientation.  There is a reciprocal interaction between the therapist and client, which shapes this process; but it is ultimately the responsibility of each individual to reach the goal of self actualization and ultimately healthy functioning, with the therapist as a facilitator of this process.
